John Shaw qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1975 with Touche Ross & Co in London. Subsequently, he spent two years seconded to the Quotations Department of the London Stock Exchange returning to Touche Ross & Co to join the Corporate Finance Group until 1982. |

After a period as a sole practitioner, he joined Chase Investment Bank Limited in 1985, was appointed a director and founded the Equity Investment Group, formed to invest in unquoted companies. In 1990 he joined Henry Ansbacher & Co Ltd. He started working with Clifton Financial Associates Plc in early 1995 and was appointed a director in December 1996. He was appointed a director of Seymour Pierce Limited in December 1998 where he was initially Group Company Secretary and latterly Head of Private Equity. In March 2001, he co-founded CFA Capital Group Plc, whose operating subsidiary, City Financial Associates Limited became a nominated adviser and sponsor.

Martin Perrin is a chemist and qualified as a chartered accountant with Peat Marwick Mitchell. He has extensive experience of operations and finance in industry, particularly technology and communications where directorships included Qualcomm Telecommunications Ltd.

After early experience at National Semiconductor Corp., he subsequently was a partner in Grahams Rintoul & Co, a fund management company which was sold to Lazards where he gained further investment management and corporate finance experience. He has executed business in a large number of countries and cultures in corporate environments ranging from start-ups to major multi-nationals. He is a non-executive director of Fiske plc and a number of private companies.

Jeffrey Lawrence |

Jeffrey Lawrence was formerly Managing Director of various Merrill Lynch business units and over a twenty five year career period, was MD of ML Corporate Financial Services, ML Institutional Sales and ML Global Asset Management.

He became a Managing Director of American Express Private Bank before forming Elan Asset Management Limited. He subsequently sold Elan Asset Management Limited to a private group, and separately sold Elan’s hedge fund business to Dawnay Day for whom he has acted as a consultant on both Corporate Finance and Investment Management activities. Over the past twenty five years he has been actively involved in both very large and smaller Corporate Finance transactions including cross border merger and acquisitions.

Oliver Rayner |

Oli has 11 years experience in corporate finance, capital markets and private equity . He has board-level executive experience in the regulated and quoted arenas. |

Having completed his law degree, he joined Granville Markets as a financial analyst from where he moved to Salomon Brothers International as an analyst in the European M&A and Debt Capital Markets groups. In 2001, he joined Bracken Partners, a Guernsey-based private equity fund, where he was responsible for a range of investments, later becoming a director of Merchant Capital, where he executed AIM and PLUS transactions. Formerly a director of the carbon trader, CarbonDesk Group plc, he is currently a director of China Factor Ltd, which advises and represents companies in their dealings with China. |

James Sibony |

James Sibony has 14 years’ experience in asset management, corporate finance and capital markets. His industry knowledge includes utilities, energy and infrastructure.

James began his career at HSBC in 1995 on the equities trading desk. He then joined UBS in equity capital markets, working on several major initial public offerings. In 1998 he moved to UBS’ M&A team, specialising in the utilities sector. Ernst & Young recruited James in 2001 to grow their corporate finance practice and cover utility and energy companies. In 2005 James established the London office of Challenger Financial Services Group, an Australian company focussed on the infrastructure sector where he gained extensive experience in managing Challenger’s infrastructure assets, including as a board director.

Julian has over 15 years of structured and leveraged finance experience, originating, evaluating, structuring and closing major transactions. His industry knowledge covers equipment, project and infrastructure finance.

He began his career at Price Waterhouse in 1990 as a management consultant. In 1992 he joined the Institute of Management Resources as a change management and operational consultant . In 1994 he joined Hambros Bank as a manger on the international structured finance team. In 1997 Julian was hired by Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce as a director of the structured finance group. This as followed by a move to GE capital in 1999 where he was the executive responsible for structured and leveraged finance. Julian is a partner in Lennox Partners. |

Grant Gilmour qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte and Touche, formerly Pannell Kerr Forster in Aberdeen. Grant has 15 years’ professional experience specialising in commodities and energy market sectors.

After qualifying, he joined Credit Suisse First Boston in 2007 working in emerging markets product and financial control. He joined Enron Europe Ltd in 1999 in risk management and also held origination and trading roles. In 2002 he joined Ernst & Young as a senior manager on the Energy Trading Risk Management team. In 2003 he worked as a consultant with Enron Europe to assist in asset recovery and claim validation. In 2004 he joined the Varomet Group, an international commodity trading company, where he held a variety of roles, culminating as the Group CFO . Grant is a partner in Lennox Partners.

Nick Rodgers |

Nick Rodgers trained as an accountant and then became an investment banker specialising in life sciences.

Between 1989 and 2003 he worked for Beeson Gregory (later Evolution Securities) and was responsible for a significant number of IPOs, fundraisings and acquisitions involving life sciences companies. As part of his role within Beeson Gregory he was involved in the establishment of the Oxford and Southampton partnerships for IP2IPO plc. Nick has been involved in companies from inception to flotation and beyond. He is Chief Executive of IPSO Ventures and is a consultant to Chatsford.
